Organize your business, schedule your days, and be consistent. These are three of the best things you can do for yourself and for your clients. Improving your work–life balance, wildly increasing your income, and moving from a reactive to a proactive style of work are just a few of the benefits you can see from time blocking your days.

Time blocking is the practice of assigning specific tasks to dedicated chunks of time on your calendar, rather than working off an endless to-do list. It creates structure, reduces decision fatigue, and helps you stay focused on what actually moves the needle. Instead of wondering what to do next, you’ve already decided. Your priorities have a place, and distractions lose their power. It’s less about rigidity and more about intention—building a schedule that reflects your goals, not just your obligations.

Time blocking a schedule down to the minute is not for everyone. It's hard–you'll be incredibly tempted to skip around, to make it up tomorrow, or to restart next week. I urge you to fight the desire as best you can, but still, know that something is far better than nothing. Even if you only manage to follow your schedule for 3 or 4 days in a week, is that not exponentially better than whatever you're doing now?

First, let's look at several terms and time blocks that may serve you well as you build your real estate empire. Then, we'll look at a few examples of how those terms could be used in workable schedules, and lastly, you'll find pre-made templates, ideas and plans from Canva, Google Calendar and Google Sheets to assist in your time blocking journey.
